Sri Lanka stupas' Architecture and History

After the introduction of Buddhism to ancient Sri Lanka by the Emperor Dharmasoka in the third century CE, Buddhist people in the Lakwas began to make Buddha's statues and make stupas. It is a monument built for the Buddha. Stupa, Dagoba, Chetiya, Vehera, and Seya are various names. The sacred tree known as Chetia was found in pre-Buddhist Indian and Ceylon society.

These trees were planted on platforms called Malaka from the ground during the Tree worship of ancient society. It is said that King Thuparamaya built the first stupa on this palace. It is on this necklace that the Sri Maha Bodhi was planted.

The Pali word 'Dhatu Garbha' has been broken down and the word Vehera is derived from the Pali temples. The Buddha's relics are said to have been buried there. However, according to chronicles and ancient Sinhala literature, the Mahiyangana Chaitya and Girigadu Seya were .built by the Buddha in his time. Before the introduction of Buddhism to the country, the Sinhalese knew the technique of burning bricks. Bricks were used for stupas in the early ages, and clay, lime, and sandstone were used for plastering

The oldest stupa in Sri Lanka is a relic. Thuparamaya was in this shape. Secondly, it is bulbous and the dagabas in the Medirigiriya, Yahangala areas in Hambantota are similar. Stupas are not found in Sri Lanka in any other shape. The establishment of pseudomaniacs on the pinnacle of a stupa has occurred in the recent past. Most likely, the diamond magnet was placed over the center of the stupa on top of the rings of the relic. It was often rectangular. Below the rectangular fort is the relic chambers. There is a large relic of the relics of the larger stupas and a small relic of the relics.

The stupa, rings, necklaces, bags, and walls were added to the stupa after its completion. It is an old tradition. The shape of the bodice can be rectangular or rounded. The number is determined by the slopes and the space around the stupa. The basement is made of sand. The entrance to the sand courtyard was custom. The sandalwood lamp, corvarak stone, cobra, and the staircase are the steps to climb the mall.

The Wahalkada is the architectural feature that surrounded the four main gates. There are many variations. Old stupas do not look the same today when stupas were erected and reconstructed for a long time examples of these are ancient relics found in Mihintale, Mihindu Maha Seya, and Yatalawehera in Tissamaharama. They are related to the form of the ancient Chaityas mentioned in the literature.

Base

There is evidence that deeper ground was burned before strong advances were made. There are also cases in which advance relics have been treasured.

Pesa rings

Pali is called Puppadhana, which is made of brick and is sometimes carved with limestone slabs. Although not used as a site of medieval saints in the Middle Ages, it was used as a site of saints in early times. A staircase for this purpose can be seen in Mirisawetiya, Polonnaruwa Pabalu Vehera.

The Veda

In ancient stupas, a wooden fence was constructed. Most of the stupas were placed in the upper rectangular area of the womb. This high-waisted ring is also called a vestry. The relics of the relics found in the stupa of the dragon are both well-displayed at this time.

The womb

The larger stupas, except for the smaller stupas, were tied to the outer bricks and filled with central soil. It is said that the inner walls of the relic as well as the outer walls of the womb were decorated with thought.

Rectangular box hermetic

The stupa was in the center of the stupa. By now the sequence had become a rectangular solid. Hermetic means the box at the top. The ancient stupa consisting of the tops, the euphoria, the octopus, the otra, has been restored to the present day by the 7th century AD.

Yup

It is the shape of the stupa. The eight sides are thought to be eight directions. The top eight edges of it are represented as a lotus flower. The origins of these stones date back to the Vedic age.

Thread

It is made of ancient granite and later stone. These are the circular shapes of medium size. The dot symbolizes statehood and is used as a homage to the Buddha. At the top is the far-off picture, and about 1 CE, two octaves were joined. It is said that these pyramids became the pinnacle of rebellion for the sake of ease of building and survival.

The Fort of Gods

The pinnacle is a work of art after the rebellion developed. There are no remains of any ancient stupa in Anuradhapura. Chronicles do not mention the goddess. It is said to have been found in the Polonnaruwa Kiri Vehera in the 12th century.

The relic womb

The square is decorated with limestone plastering. Sometimes the character of Buddha is depicted in the Jataka Stories. In the center, the stoneware is placed in the cellar, and the sacred objects and sacred objects are placed in the cavities of the stone. Above it is placed a large rectangular rock with three stones on a large rectangular rock.
